My Story

After fourteen years of experience in various turbine engine support roles ranging from customer service, to lease pool management, to sales, I stepped out on my own to bring my creative brand of problem solving to the world through Oscar Whiskey Aero. While I’ve developed a strong network of relationships over the years that will undoubtedly help me help you, I believe my biggest asset is the ability to ask the right questions, listen, and truly understand your needs. Experience has taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to optimizing your fleet, and in order to get to the right answer for you, I need to approach each situation with fresh eyes, and work closely with you to find the best solution together.

My commitment to communicating clearly, treating people with respect, and always acting with integrity has brought me to where I am today – and it’s what you can except each time you work with me.

Experience

In 2004, as I was finishing my business degree at the University of Manitoba, I was fortunate to land two good job prospects – one in aviation, and the other in the automotive industry. I thought that aviation was “cooler,” so I went with that; little did I know that this decision was about to set me on a path where I would quickly develop a real passion for aviation, and a love of customer service. During my ten years at StandardAero, I worked as a customer service representative, business development manager, lease pool manager, and finally as an inside sales representative. My time there was an incredible journey that taught me more than I could have imagined when accepting that first position, and created a lot of friendships along the way.

In the next phase of my career, I contracted for an American company in an engine sales role for four years, where I gained a whole new perspective on the challenges that aircraft operators are facing today. I also learned even more clearly how people want and expect to be treated, both in a general sense and specifically while they are involved in making major maintenance decisions. On April 1, 2018, out of the many valuable lessons I had learned and the amazing network I had formed over the previous 14 years, I officially launched Oscar Whiskey Aero.

My Family

When I’m not hard at work, you’ll find me spending time with my wife, Kelsey, and our boys, Owen and Winston. Kelsey is a labour and delivery nurse and aspiring photographer, and she’s also the one who stays on top of most things at home so that I can spend more time at the office serving my clients. The men in our house are very lucky to have her! Owen, who is 2, is obsessed with cars (although he’s starting to come around and get into airplanes), and Winston is a very happy baby – his parents are very thankful for that.

In the rare moments that I’m not at work or with my family, there’s a good chance I’m participating in the most Canadian of pastimes by playing on my local beer league hockey team, or cheering on Winnipeg’s NHL team, the Jets. In the off-season, you can catch me outdoors golfing, mountain biking, fishing, or just relaxing at the lake.
